    Nancy and I went to St Donat over the weekend. It is 360 miles from
    Merrimack to St Donat and took us 6 1/2 hours. 
    
    The Fleuron is a very nice place and the owners were very accomodating
    (they offered to exchange money, get us discounts on meals). There is
    plenty of parking and good turn around access for trailers.
    
    St. Donat is a very picturesque. We had some great meals that were very
    reasonable! The lake has 2ft of ice and the main trail is about 50
    yards from the motel. There is a Polaris dealer and a Yamaha dealer 
    in town and a Ski Doo dealer on the East edge of town. All do rentals.  
    Town trails are groomed every night. 
    
    The trail system is excellent (prepare for some 300 mile days and
    being back by 5pm). There is a scenic ride to the top of Black mountain
    where the birds will eat from your hand. 
    
    Mid week riding is the best as visitors from Montreal come up for the
    weekends. (1 1/2 hour from Montreal).

Directions to St. Donat:

Get to Montreal... (chuckle) Take 15 north from Montreal to 
Sainte-Agathe des Monts. (about 45 miles) In St Agathe take
route 329 North to St Donat (about 25 miles). This road will 
take you right by the Cuill�re � Pot. 329 intersects 125.
Go left on 125 into town. Le Fleuron is on the other side of town
(about 3-4miles) and is on the left.

Nancy and I plan to be in Tuesday night (late!)

We'll meet every one at the Cuill�re � Pot for breakfast.
Lets plan to depart at 10am (so breakfast needs to be at 9am)

	Dawn & I are staying at the Pot'o'Chicken and should be there around
	mid-afternoon on Tuesday.  Who's gonna be there 1st ?  Adrian ? or
	Gary ?  Who's gonna be the welcoming committee ?

	Does Dana still do the Saturday Night Special Dinner ? 

	In case anyone is interested, Dawn & I are planning on going skiing
	at least one day (yeah, I know - but she's a skier first and a snow-
	mobiler second - although I'm trying to change that !).  So, anyone
	who wants to ski can join us. There's a ski area right in St. Donat.

    Chuck,
      Just got off the phone with Tap(tm) and he might also be coming in
    earlier on Tuesday. I can get their at any time. I prefer earlier so 
    that I can scout out the local area, get my pass, find the local place
    a la gogo for Rickratt(tm), etc.
      Since Dana and Bunky won't be there until late Wednesday night, does
    anyone have a couch I can stay on Tuesday night? If so, can they reply
    today? I start my holidays tonight and won't be back until the second 
    week in March.

    So, who is going to be in St. Donat next week?  I know that Bunky and I
    are coming up on Wednesday and Gary will be there on Tuesday.  Did he
    find someone to bunk with on Tuesday night??
    
    We will be bringing food with us for a Saturday night buffet but not
    sure if there is a place for us to hold this.  Paul, perhaps you know
    if Le Fleuron has a community type room as the motel did in Ste Agathe
    when we were there?  I have no clue.  Maybe we should plan to go out
    for a nice dinner that night instead??  Just a thought.

	Hi Dana,

	I will be there with my girlfriend Dawn on Tuesday afternoon (we're
	staying at the Chicken Pot).  Looking forward to seeing everyone !

	I just spent 4 days (Mon - Thr) in Island Pond, Vt. with my two
	boys.  We did about 350 miles but had to be carefull as Wed. was
	a washout with rain and high temps.  So we bascially lost a whole
	day.

    Just got back from a trip from Quebec city to Lac St Jean and back (550
    miles) Nancy and I are headed up to Baskatong on Saturday and will be
    in St Donat on Tues aft. Gary will "have" our couch if all else fails
    for Tues night. 
    
    I don't think there is a "community room" at Le Fleuron, but the owners
    are so accomodating, they will have some good ideas. Lets talk with
    them when we get up there (and do a body count to see how much room we
    need).
    
    Wed am we plan to meet at the Cuill�re�pot for breakfast @9 (maybe 8 if
    enough people want, eh Chuck? ....Gary S won't have a choice <grin>)

	Wow !  You're really getting your money's worth for those Quebec
	Trail Passes !  I'll look for you but if you drag Gary over with
	you - he knows what I look like (especially after consuming many

    Great!  It will be good to see you again and ride too.  Looks like
    we'll be the late ones arriving.  We won't be in until Wednesday night

	Hello everyone !

	Well, I had a great time in St. Donat last week and so did Dawn !
	It was nice meeting new friends (Tap, Nancy, Brian, and Glen) and
	renewing the old (Dana, Bunky, Gary, Rick, Mo, and Chris). 
	Although Dawn and I didn't get to ride with everybody (actually we
	rode by ourselves quite a bit) we were really excited about being 
	part of it all and I want to specifically thank Bunky for letting 
	Dawn use his hippo-hands for a couple of days and the patience 
	everyone had for an inexperienced rider.  I thought she did really
	well and I was very proud of her .... hopefully, next year, Brian
	will bring his SO and take the pressure off Dawn !

	So let the stories begin !

 If I bring my SO with me next year we want be able to ride
60 down Main St. again...!!! and I know you enjoyed translating
for Joette...!!!

 I thought Dawn did really well for her first time riding also,
tell her I say Hi. Did you have to drive all the way to Connecticut
on Sunday..?

    Some of us are heading back up to ST Donat for the weekend of March
    22,23. 
    
    Dana and Bunkie (as do I) have a room at the Fleuron. I'm planning to
    stay until Wed 3/26.

    I made pretty good time going home Saturday mid-day. I drove through
    everything mother nature could throw at me, got home, did a few things,
    turned around and drove back down to Toronto to catch a flight to
    Seattle the next day. 
      The people make the trips we have and this year was no exception.
    The riding was excellent. It would have been nice to get everyone 
    together for one group ride but maybe next year. Paul showed me more
    carb basics and now the mileage is about where I expect it to be.
    Not bad for a 600cc sled.
      Only had one run in with the cops and Rick took care of it for us.
    I will get the shock changed(probably in the spring) in the skid frame
    that was fading on me. Next will be a better front-end alignment and
    everything should be great.
