| Logged 200 miles on my sled this weekend. Rode from Richmond,
Ontario, to Calabogie! What a great time. If you folks are ever in
search of great trails... look no further than Ontario.
On a side note, I hear the RAP ('round Algonquin Park) tour is
something of a snowmobilers paradise. I may just have to make that an
up and coming trip....

582.5 | 200mi in a day.. Lifetime High for me.. | PTOSS1::MATSCHERZ | | Wed Feb 19 1997 09:12 | 14 |
| Speaking of riding.. I had the ride of my life last week.
We started out at Houghton lake in Michigan and rode some of the best
trails that I've ever been on to the Mackinaw Bridge. It was a 200mi
ride thru varying terrain. We stayed overnight at a place right next
to the Bridge. Needless to say we were pretty beat and had a good
nights sleep. We rode back the next day to the motel (and took the
shortest route I might add ! ) where we started out at for another
187mi. The funniest thing about this ride was that my sled was the
oldest one of the group. And it's a 95 . Needless to say we had a
great time and had no mechanical failures (unlike those old Rick-rat
notes with his exciters ! ). :0 :)
Gotta go..

| While out for a morning run the other day I met a couple of lads
from the U.s. of A! They were sledding from Saratoga NY to Wisconsin,
by way of northern Ontario!!! they started out as a three-some but
had some mechanical probs with an XCR. They were out "scouting" the
trails when I met up with them. Their pal was getting his sled fixed.
They said NY trails "SUCK", Ontario rules (so, far). I agree'd, of
course....

| The first week of my holidays this year was spent doing the RAP tour
in Ontario. I did the same tour about 4 years ago and everything has
improved dramatically. We did about 650 miles in 4 days. You could
easily do it in 3 days. They had lots of snow and everything was
groomed pretty well.

582.8 | 2254 miles around Lake Superior.. | PTOSS1::MATSCHERZ | | Mon Mar 10 1997 13:43 | 12 |
| Speaking of riding.. A friend of mine who just happens to live down the
street from me did a ride of the lifetime. He rode completely around
Lake Superior. Total ride was 2254 miles. They only had two places
where the snow was bad and had to get a trailer. It took them 8 days
to do the whole thing. One day was 350 miles. They said that they
wanted to do it again. They had asked me to go along with them. I
don't think I'm ready to do that kind of ride .. yet..
