952.0. "2.5" Powerbook drive availability?" by EYLAK::BATES (Ken Bates) Sun Feb 09 1997 16:52

Does anyone have a pointer to a place to buy 2.5" SCSi drives for a PB540? I
have a Toshiba 800 MB drive that just bit the dust (bad spindle bearing), and
it seems that nobody makes 2.5" SCSI drives anymore. The only place I could
find is one that takes and IDE drive and adds a SCSI interface. Little on the
expensive side, unless there's no other choice.

I'm looking for one >750 MB or so.

    I've got a quote here from him for a Microdyne 2.5" SCSI 810 meg hard
    drive for $657, availability <1 week. Granted, this was a quote for a
    Digital P.O., so a personal purchase may or may not be the same price.
