388.24 | How else can you open/install F-keys? | CSC32::M_HERODOTUS | Mario at CXO3/B10 Colorado | Mon Mar 31 1997 11:58 | 14 |

Question: What utility do you recommend for installing and configuring
F-Keys (something that works with system 7.5.5 on PCI based Macs)
The reason I ask this is that I used to use Suitcase but have given it
up for the new Adobe Type Manager 4.0. I like the interface of ATM a
lot more than Suitcase. There is one thing I miss about Suitcase
though...I miss the ability to open F-Keys. I haven't messed with
F-Keys in ages, I had a set of about 5 that I would open with Suitcase
and now that functionality is gone from my machine. I'd like to get it
back.
Thanks,
Mario

| I don't know about *opening* FKEYs, because each one is custom code,
but I just use ResEdit for installing and uninstalling them. Open the
FKEY file and a copy of your System file, copy/paste the FKEY resource
from the FKEY file into the System file, and close. Swap the System
file in for your original, and reboot.
