1502.0. "Sequent to PCM management" by WOTVAX::HILTON (Save Water, drink beer) Wed Mar 19 1997 04:23

Has anyone used PCM to manage Sequent? My customer is trying it out,
but can't get a console prompt.

    cheers,

Can you tell us more about the Sequent console port? Does it meet the
    following 3 requirements:

    1 RS232 or DEC423 physical configuration

    2. Ascii character set

    3. XON/XOFF flow control and data buffering.

If it does then PCM can manage it. Your next hurdle is to get the
correct cabling config and setup the decserver port properly - just
    like any other system.

    Okay,
What cables and/or DEConnect adapters are you suing?

Well BT have got it semi-working know, they get into the console, but
in their words, it appears as if something has locked out the
console.

Sequent say this is unsupported, so has anyone, anywhere in the world
got PCM managing Sequent boxes?

Any idea who I could pass this request onto in CA for an official
response?

Cheers,

Greg
