1489.0. "VCS$ENS_xxxx.COM file protection" by HGOSPS::MICKWIDLAM () Thu Feb 20 1997 03:04

    Hi,

    I'm a novice in VCS and have a question would like to ask.

    A customer of mine said that they have the VCS$ENS_xxx.COM files are
    with protection S:R,O:R,G:E. In the command procedures, they have some
    lines deleting themselves. The owner is SYSTEM. When the SYSTEM account
    running those command procedures and hit those deletes, BYPASS
    privilege is used. This cause lot of security audit message.

    Can anyone tell me where those security come from and how to change
    them to S:RWED,O:RWED. The files are generated and thus difficult to
    change them one by one manually.

    Thanks and regards,
    Mickwid Lam.

    Hmmmm.... what do an ANALYZE/IMAGE on one of the VCS images and post
    it. I really thought the file-protection problem was fixed in
    CSCPAT_1055. Your customer needs to consider upgrading to PCM.
