A customer has a requirement to be able to see the startup and shutdown messages to be displayed via pcm on the machine that is running console manager itself. The machine is running 1.6/308 Digital Unix. As the console has been change to serial from console to be able to monitor other systems... I am not sure how you set it up such that the console messages are not lost? Many thanks Avril

It is unsupported for the PCM engine to manage it's own physical console port. This is becuase when PCM is down you don't have access to the PCM engines console - it's a classic chicken-or-the-egg situation. Now I thought the the log daemon on Unix captured all console messages???? Of course it can't capture the initial boot messages from the console as the O/S isn't running yet. Regs, dan | |||||
