| PCMSVR is gone. The scan profiles can be had on any V2.0 OpenVMS
Freeware CD.

1451.2 | Old Stuff in the V2.0 OpenVMS Freeware CD | GENIE::TANNER | | Thu Dec 19 1996 01:49 | 12 |
| Hi Dan
yes on my last OpenVMS Freeware CD where some Scan Profiles but most
of them are for "old" Hardware.
I missed those for "new" Hardware like the Alpha Servers Series (2100,
8400, 4100, etc) or the Storage Controllers (HSZ40, HSx50, etc).
The contents of the V2.0 OpenVMS Freeware CD is NOT updated since
November 1995.
Where are all the Scan Profiles from PCMSVR ?

Engineering basically pushed the responsibility for creating scans back
to the product lines and the customer base with the release of PCM.
Probably what was available on PCMSVR went with the systems and folks
that CA bought. You can pretty much use the DEC7000 profile (we're
using it at my current customer site) for the TurboLaser. We've got
some Rawhides, but they're currently configured without any particular
scan profile. The 4100s seem to be responding fairly well to the
DEC7000 profile.
Yup, most of the scans are for older systems; mostly these were
exported from VCS into PCM anyway.

| There is light and the end of this tunnel. PCM V1.7 is in Beta test and
there are new scan profiles present in the kit as well as all of those
from the old PCMSVR system.

| I need it now

I also checked the V 3.0 Freeware CD but on this CD we still distribute
the scan profiles for "old" Hardware....does customers still use
VAX 11/780 and 11/750 ??
