1413.0. "What is the latest version of PCM ?" by COMICS::MILLSS ("Jump! Jump now!" ...Kosh) Fri Oct 18 1996 09:06

The reason I'm asking is because I have a customer running V1.6-304 on Alpha
VMS. He has several outstanding problems that he was assured would be fixed in
the next (Major) release.

So can anyone answer one or all of the following questions :-

1) When the next official ECO kit will be available ?
2) When the next release is due for ...err.. release ?
3) If there are any interim releases at a later rev level then V1.6-304 ?

Many thanks for any help or advice.

The latest PCM version is V1.6-308 and by next week it will be V1.6-309
If you have problems with your current version of PCM you might want to check
the new patch.

    Laser,
This is all well and good and I know that you are not the one that
makes the decision, but we have *customers* that want to know when
the next *official* ECO will be released. CA needs to make a
decision and tell us what they are going to do. We here at the CSC's
are dodging bullets and the excuse of "there have been some delays
due to the sale of the products to CA" is not working any more.

Thanks for your update but will V1.6-309 be an official ECO kit or an interim
bug fix sort of thing ? Where/how do we get these kits to "check out" ? My
customer's problem is mainly screen handling whilst monitoring a VMS system
crash. How do I find out if that is fixed in the latest "version" of PCM ?

    Simon,
*Now* I can answer your question. There is no plan to create another
official ECO to V1.6. What is planned is a maintenance release that
will be in beta test by December. This version will be known as V1.7.

Per a converstaion I had with CA today, V1.7 is *on schedule*.
