I'm not real familiar to PCM, but we may want to include it on a proposal. I checked other notes but I failed to find my answers. Any help would be appreciated. - Can an Alpha workstation running Digital UNIX V3.2g with PCM manage AlphaServer 8400s running Digital UNIX V4.0A? - During initial setup of the AlphaServer 8400s "out of the box", preloaded or not, can PCM be used right away or do I have to have a terminal on the servers and issue commands to get the PCM client side working? Is there any client setup on the servers that needs to taken care of before PCM will work? Regards, Kevin

Kevin, PCM has no interaction with you server. That is, you can have PCM running on any version of UNIX monitoring any version of UNIX or VMS, or any RS232 compatible line. PCM doesn't care what is there (Hmm, poet and didn't know it!) Also, you can set up PCM out of the box, and set up the servers out of the box without ever setting up a VT for the servers. There is NO PCM client Shaun |
