1403.0. "How to delete groups please ?" by COMICS::SUMNERC (OpenVMS Counter Intelligence) Wed Oct 09 1996 09:59

    Hi,

I have a customer on PCM 1.6 who would like to remove a group entry and
leave just the icons (systems) within that group.

    Example, his group is Building A, with machines A, B, C, & D.

    He'd like to remove the group entry leaving machines A, B, C & D.

Is this possible ? I can't work this out from the manual.

Thanks in advance for any help,

If I understand you correctly you want to remove the group from PCM
entirely but leave all of the system records/icons etc.

If I've got it correctly then the menu path from the GUI config editor
    is

    Edit->Group->Delete->pick-the group-you-want-to-delete

When you do this, there will no longer be a group-icon on the main
C3 window. You will now see icons for all systems that were formerly
    part of the deleted group.

Now, if your goal is to leave the systems in group but to replace
the group icon with all the individual system icons I have some bad
news: There is no way to do it currently. If systems are part of a
group then you will only see the group icon on the main screen. An
enhancement has been suggested to include a new button that will select
between a group icon being displayed or the individual node-icons being
    displayed.
