1383.0. "Adding sound to PCM Events, Help" by CHUECA::JMGUERRA (MCS Madrid) Tue Sep 17 1996 03:08

Hi,

A client has Polycenter Console Manager 1.6, Motif 1.2-3,
and VAX VMS V6.2, running in a VAXStation 4000-60.

They want to use the bell feature associated with PCM events.

It looks like you can determine the volume of the bell by giving
some percentage to the events.

THe client only sees that the volume is always the same.

Please, can somebody tell me how can associate the bell volume
to these PCM events? Does it work the percentage? Do they need
additional hardware/software?

Thanks in advance
Jose Miguel

Hi Jose,

I just tested this out here on my AlphaStation 200 running V1.6-201
and I'm having the same results. I didn't see anything in the "V1.6-300"
Release Notes concerning "bells and/or volumes" either. I'll check with
some other people - however, it appears not to be working.

    Thanks Dennis for your answer.

We disable the bell from motif in the keyboard setup under the option
    memu.

The client said that it work.

    Thanks again
