1362.0. "PCM 1.6 -line sensor to remote console conn lost" by CSC32::B_GRUBBS () Wed Aug 21 1996 16:00

    PCM 1.6

HSZ40 with 6 serial interfaces to DECserver 90m ports

    Using Telnet connections.

One of the controllers when they use the monitor interface window
from PCM to connect to the device, they see a message at the bottom
of the screen after doing 'connect', the screen clears and just
sits there until they hit return:

connection between line sensor and remote console has been lost

This one connection is the only one having the problem.
The icon stays greyed out unless the reset the color on it and the
    status says 'status ok'.

We checked extract/review and didn't select any of the options so
we could see any and all console messages that have ever come from this
device and we see absolutely nothing.

In effect, although PCM keeps saying the status is ok, something is
very wrong with this thing. It's never received any messages from the
device in the HSZ40 and we can't connect to it successfully.

What does this line sensor error mean, and how can correct it?
    Any ideas?

Once PCM has lost the connection can you then do

    telnet server-name listener-number

and then access the console of the HSZ40?

If you can't then it's a configuration issue on the server port more
than likely (Assuming you can telent to the decserver at all).
