1341.0. "C3 dialog produces weirdness first time, then won't find that file!" by COMICS::HAWLEYI (668 - the neighbour of the beast!) Wed Jul 10 1996 09:06

Could be one for an IPMT this.

Dialog works fine from the command line under Digital UNIX but when firing off a
monitor window from the C3 and then typing:

dialog test JAGUAR (where test is the file, and JAGUAR is the system)

it says:

Executing file test on system JAGUAR
Command: System QUIET is not in the current configuration database

This only happens on the very first instance after having completely killed
everything and started up cleanly.

The next time you try and it and thereafter, you get a more familiar:

Could not open file test
No such file or directory

So, I tried setting CONSOLE_USER_DEFAULTS to be the directory where the file
was, same message, I tried making sure the file was in $HOME, same message.

Worth IPMTing or any ideas for things I havent tried?

Thanks,

Ian Hawley.

Forgot to mention that we are running ECO2 and that this has been seen on a
customers system and ratified here on the in-house systems.

Thanks,

Ian.

    Ian,
      I begin to worry when you forgot to mention something 3 times...;-}

The bit with the system QUIET is interesting. As QUIET is a command
line switch I'd bet the routine building the argument vector has a bug.
    It's definitely IPMT time!
