1339.0. "PCM loosing connections" by JOBURG::BARNES () Wed Jul 10 1996 03:01
We run POLYCENTER Console Manager V1.6-201 on an
AlphaServer 2100 Digital Unix 3.2D
We have one decserver 900TM (32-ports, 4 meg memory)
and one decserver 90M (16-ports, 4 meg memory)
When have around 30 systems to manage. When we start
console manager we can see the systems going from grey
to white. By clicking on them we can connect to the
console of mostly all of them. Some of them are always
present and connectable, 3 x 2100 and around 20 HSZ
controlers.
After 10 minutes we begin to loose the conections with
some of the systems, they are up and down, grey and white,
mainly the connections to the Turbolaser consoles.
The managing system is also running Oracle which takes a
lot of memory. We have often problems with the shared memory
and cannot restart console manager.
The decservers are not on the same LAN as the systems but
we go through a CISCO bridge where LAT protocol is disabled.
They just authorize TCP/IP protocol to go through.
Any ideas or information as to how to about resolving this problem
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Regards,
Les Barnes.
