1318.0. "Can't access PCMSVR for doc" by ZPOVC::YINGYONG () Mon Jun 10 1996 04:05

    I tried to access pcmsvr::cm$docs over the weekend, can't access it.
    I need to get the SSA doc to learn how to use pseudo terminal
    connection for PCM. Is SSA the right doc for this purpose ? So little
    info about pseudo terminal connection in the user guide.

    Is PCMSVR still there ?

1318.1I think PCMSVR is gone...WBC::STASSEGlenn Stasse, 339-7780Mon Jun 10 1996 09:428
    Greetings,

    I too am looking for the PCM documentation. Doing this from the cdrom
    documantation is nearly hopeless. It looks as though PCMSVR has gone
    away, along with the product, to CA. Can someone send a pointer to the
    user guide or mail me the .ps file. I would be MOST appreciative!

    Glenn

    As stated in another note, once the folks at CA get settled in and
    can provide me with a disk I can host the files as well as the
    scan profiles.

    Also, you should be able to find the documentation on the latest OpenVMS
    Condist. This documentation is good for all O/S platforms.

    KITS: CSC32::PCM$KITS:,DOCS: CSC32::PCM$DOCS:

    I believe the logicals should still be defined on all cluster nodes of
    CSC32.

    Sometimes you get:

    $ dir CSC32::PCM$KITS:

    Directory CSC32::PCMDISK:[PCM.KITS]

    CONSOLEECO2016.A;1
    CONSOLEECO2016.B;1
    CONSOLEECO2016.C;1
    CONSOLEECO2016.D;1
    CONSOLEECO2016.E;1
    DCROSF162.TAR;1

    And 2 minutes later:

    $ dir CSC32::PCM$kits:

    %DIRECT-E-OPENIN, error opening CSC32::PCM$KITS:*.*;* as input
    -RMS-F-DEV, error in device name or inappropriate device type for
    operation

    Also, please add the Consolemanager User Guide in postscript format to
    the docs directory.

    Thanks and regards,

    Johan

    And they were until somone shut a few nodes down. I am not the system
    manager of that cluster so I do not modify any of the system startup
    procedures. I asked the system managers to add the mount and logical name
    defs to the system startup.
