1315.0. "No "CMgr Connect or CMgr Disconnect" events" by CHEFS::WILLS_A (Andrew Wills) Tue Jun 04 1996 11:04

    Hello,

I have a problem with PCM in that when connecting to some of the
managed nodes, no CMgr Connect or CMgr Disconnect events are being
logged. I am currently monitoring less than 30 nodes.

The connect itself works fine, the dxterms displayed when 'connect to
console' is selected have the same settings, the message that gets
displayed when the connect is established are the same.
The failure to log the messages is repeatable, the same nodes each time
    don't get the event/alarm raised.

Messages from all of the hosts behave correctly, and all get logged in
    the event logs.

I am running PCM on a AlphaStation 200 4/233 system, 96 Mbytes of
memory 256Mbytes of swap space and OSF 3.2-D.
The PCM version I'm using is V1.6-125

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Andrew

I'd bet all of those nodes are on the same controller right? Also, do
regular console events get triggered on the nodes that *don't* trigger
    the Connect/Disconnect?

    Hello Dan,

Regular console events do get triggered on all of the
nodes, but after looking at the terminal characteristics, I found that
some of them had been set as lat terminals rather than telnet
terminals. I'll make sure to use the define rather than set options in
the terminal server setup this time.

    Regards,
