1267.0. "Console Mgr on Digital UNIX V4.0" by VNASWS::FLOR (Alex Flor (754-1361)) Thu Apr 11 1996 11:35

Hi,

I'm trying to run DCR160 on Digital UNIX V4.0 without success.

It seems that the console mgr can't initiate a LAT connection to
the terminal server.

Has anyone out there been more successfull than me?

Does DCR162 run on 4.0?

If not, when will we see a version for 4.0?

Thanks for any info,
-alex-

Hi,

any progress on testing PCM with Unix V4.0? Is V1.6 likely to be supported by
Unix V4.0 or must we wait for V1.7?

thanks & regards,
bill.

More than likely the next release will support 4.0.

I thought we (Digital) didn't own PCM any longer - wasn't it sold to
CA? Are we still doing new releases of this product?
    Thanks,
    Terry

You are correct, CA owns the product and CA has committed to maintain
it which includes new releases that support new operating system
    versions.

I want to encourage *all* sales and field personell that PCM is alive
and well and it can be made even more so with customer input that
demands the product to be enhanced. CA *never* walks away from money.
They have software products that are many, many years old becuase
customers like them, buy them and buy support contracts for them.

I simply cannot "preach this gospel" stringly enough. If your customers
are happry with PCM and want to see it maintained and enhanced then you
must deliver those messages directly to CA.

The best way to deliver this message is to use the CA web page at

    http://www.cai.com/

Click the Service and Support button and then pick Feedback from the
    resulting window.

    Regards,
       Dan

PCM does belong to CA now.

As for 4.0 and pcm, we did get it working here in the center, but as it
has not been exaustively tested, AND as 4.0 is NOT listed in the SPD
for PCM, I wouldn't put it onto a customer system unless it was an
    emergency...
