Hi, Has anyone seen the following problem before ? I have a customer who is running 3 independent PCM systems. Each is running OpenVMS VAX V6.1 and PCM V1.6-127. The number of consoles on each system is between 17 & 32 so there are 2 child controller processes. He has found that when connecting to systems that are connected via one of the controllers no 'Cmgr Connect' & 'Cmgr Disconnect' events are generated. Other events on these systems are generated normally. The customer only noticed the problem after upgrading to V1.6-127 but it may have also occurred on previous versions. I have tried to reproduce the problem on a workstation running OpenVMS VAX V6.2 but I have been unable to do so. Thanks in advance, Geoff Judd.

Geoff, Can you set CONSOLE$DEBUG to ENS at the customer site and retry the experiment? This will tell us if the ENS daemon is even getting the event. Regs, Dan | |||||

Dan,Geoff, I have set the logical to ENS, shutdown and restarted PCM and obtained a list of systems vs. controllers via "console status/all". Using the DCL "console connect x" command, I have connected to two systems on each controller. Those controlled by "Console Ctrl 01" did not generate C3 events "CMgr Connect" or "CMgr Disconnect". I have checked the CONSOLE$TMP:CONSOLE$ENS_DAEMON.LOG log file (?), but can only find events for the connects that were indicated by the C3 status line. Those from controller 1 did not appear in the log. Ross On-Site Support British Telecom |
