1175.0. "Simple questions not always have simple answers." by 54687::WIJKAMP (One day, you won't drink beer, you'll drink GROLSCH) Wed Jan 31 1996 04:33

    Hello,

    Just a simple question.

Can we ever expect to get a new version/eco for PCM, or is it DEAD?

There are a number off problems that customers keep logging calls about.
Archiving problems, hanging monitor interface to mention a few, and I
don't have the feeling that there is anything done about it.

    Just curious.

    Greetings

    Ren ,
If you peruse this conference you will see that *much* is being
done about it. ECO 2 is in the works as well as planning for a new
    release.

I would like to second Dan's reply, that the PCM engineering team
has been working very hard at both getting up to speed (for the
new people) as well as addressing customer problems. If you have
specific issues or particular IPMT cases that you would like to
bring to my attention, please send me mail directly. The engineering
teams are chartered to handle the IPMT cases reported from the CSC
on a prioritized basis, so if the volume is high for more critical
cases, the responses to the lower priority cases will not be as
    quick in coming.

I would also like to request that you do not assume or suggest that
PCM is "dead". The project team members have worked very hard in
the past few quarters to support this product and make sure its
strategic importance in POLYCENTER is recognized by management. We
are currently planning the next releases and are very pleased and
excited about the enhancements we will be providing as well as the
current upward trend in the revenue stream.

I appreciate the work and support you and everyone else in the field
have provided for us, given the extra work we've all had to take on
to help sustain the customer interest and investment. Please keep
us apprised of the customer successes, issues and comments. The more
details the better, this is what's helped us and what's going to help
    do our jobs better.

    Regards,
    Rae
