Hello Dan, On node 1049 I asked about clustering PCM stations in order to have a hot standby. We have taken your advice about SCSI clusters and having a separate box (BA350) with the shared and quorum disks in it. I posed the question before (maybe a didn't understand the answer)about what would happen to the event files opened by the primary PCM when it goes down ? Will the secondary be able to open the same files ? Or are the event files for each PCM station unique and can only be written to by the station that created them ? I believe it would be convenient to have the same files opened so the operators do not have to look at different files for each system (cluster member). Otherwise the only advantages to have a clustered config, as opposed to two separate stations, would be from the point of view that we use only one system disk (savings). I can't think of any other, can you ? Regards

Hi, I would say that the only problem is that you can't have PCM running concurrently on both systems as they can't both open the same files. This would then require some form of monitoring of the primary PCM system from the Secondary PCM system. If that is achieved, then it's like closing down, and starting again PCM. SHaun |
