1166.0. "SYSGEN/UAF parameters for PCM" by 45769::SCOTT_B () Wed Jan 24 1996 06:56

    I am getting loads of messages in CONSOLE$DAEMON.LOG as follows :-

    using builtin default for child xxxxxx logical definition too low!

    All the xxxxxx strings are parameters such as ASTLM etc.

    Are there recommendations for these logicals and SYSGEN parameters etc
    - I can't find anything in the documentation or startup procedures that
    helps.

    Thanks

    Barry,
       Someone has define some logicals of the form

    CONSOLE$DAEMON_quota-name

    and has set them below the defaults. Get rid of them!

1166.2But they came with the installation45769::SCOTT_BThu Jan 25 1996 09:409
    All those logicals are defined, Dan, but they're being got from
    CONSOLE$LOGICALS.COM which was presumably created as part of the
    installation.

    I can easily get rid of them but it seems odd that they should be a
    problem as supplied out of the box.

    Thats the issue, the out of the box CONSOLE$LOGICALS *DOESN'T* contain
    those logicals. SOmeone edited the file and put them there!!!

    I would go back to the ECO1 kit and pull the original from the .A
    savset.
