Q1: Since PCM is polling the nodes every 2 minutes (LAT or TELNET) customer would like to know if these timers can be modified ? He is worried about extra load. Especially over slower TELNET lines to remote sites. What is this check doing ? Is it actually going over the network to the remote TELNET server/listener port ? Q2: When disconnecting a 4 wired DECconnect cable from a consoleline PCM is not complaining about it. Will this work with more wires or is this 'line disconnected' only for the availabitlity of the Terminal server/port. Regards, Marcel

Yes it can be changed but there is absolutely no need to do so. The overhead is totally negligible. > Q2: > When disconnecting a 4 wired DECconnect cable from a consoleline PCM is > not complaining about it. Only certain servers such as the DS90L and 90L+ care if there is actually decconnect cable plugged in. Personally, I don't recommend that you use these particular servers as they are not the most robust. A DS700 is a much better choice. REgards, Dan |
