1122.0. "PCM 1.6 Archive ACCVIO - somebody talk to me, please !" by 42441::MILLSS (Nice planet) Wed Dec 13 1995 06:18

Customer is running latest ECO on OpenVMS VAX V6.2

When performing Archive operation the following ACCVIO occurs.

Any help in trouble-shooting this would be much appreciated. (I did search this
conference for this accvio, first)

Thanks.

Here is more info from the customer to aid in the diagnosis of this problem...

> 1) The two ACCVIO's occurred when I started up the archive using MB3 on the

> 2) If I now start the archive from the command menu of the main console
> manager window a couple of odd things happen.

1122.2Even more info... Is there anybody out there ?42441::MILLSSNice planetTue Dec 19 1995 03:4713
An update directly from the horse's mouth...

> I archived one system successfully from the CLI and then tried to archive
> another system. The window I started the archive from kept showing the message
> 'No response from controller Waiting ....' and the window that PCM was started
> from showed archive ACCVIO and the stack dump. I needed to have the software

*Any* help with this would be appreciated !

Thanks,

Simon.

Murod,

Thankyou for answering my cries for help !

The customer has already installed ECO 1. Am I to believe that this kit you
mention is for field test ?

Unfortunately my contact with the customer is now on holiday until 27th
December. I shall copy this kit to her system and ask her to install it when she
gets back.

I will post the results here, favourable or otherwise, when I get them !

Thanks again,

Simon.

re .3 & .4

Murod,

I have some results for you ! To quote my customer ...

>I've been testing out the patch you sent for the archive problem, it is an
>improvement but not a true fix. I was unable to crash the archive however I had
>a repeat of a different problem I told you about before Christmas.

>Most of the systems archived OK, as the archive progessed messages appeared

>correct files appeared in the archive area. Four of the eight systems archived
>did not show any working messages during archiving and the archive files
>created dated from 00:00 1-10-1970. The Event, Log and Time files in the data

>collected between today and the date the system was archived up to is lost.

So, any ideas what we do next ?

Thanks, as ever, in advance,

Simon.

1122.9Archive still working42441::MILLSSNice planetWed Jan 17 1996 10:095
Thanks. I can confirm that the original Archive ACCVIO now seems to be
"permanently" fixed, i.e. it has worked consistently since my last note in .7
over a week ago.

Is there any update on the latest Archive problem I informed you of in .7 ?

Thanks.
