1102.0. "trace pseudoterminal problem" by 54625::WILLEMSG (Geert Willems MCS-Belgium) Mon Nov 20 1995 10:15

    	Hi,

    	PCM V1.6 + ECO kit, OpenVMS V6.2.
Is there a way to trace a pseudoterminal problem in PCM ?
The command procedure doesn't get executed.
We already disabled the SYLOGIN.COM, LOGIN.COM and it's still
not working. Before under V1.5 it worked fine.

    	Thanks in advance.

    	Rgds,

    	Geert

Hi Geert,

Have you tried (for a starter):

		$DEFINE/SYS/EXE CONSOLE$DEBUG TRUE,DAEMON,ENS

...then stop/restart PCM. Look at the log files in "CONSOLE$TMP:".

Dennis

    	Dennis,

Of course I did that. This doesn't help.

    	Thanks for trying.

When you go into MONITOR and view the pseudo-node and use the PREV/NEXT
keys what do you see? Do you by cchance see an "@" sign after the echo
of a some commands or what?

Dan,

Geert WILLEMS posted this problem for me when still being a DIGITAL employee.
Geert now works for the customer that "has" this FT problem.
I'm providing consulting from time to time to this customer and will
followup the problem from now.

You have also proven that it must be an environmental problem at this
customer site by virtue of the fact that it works for you. I contend they
still have some login procedure or some such that is causing this problem.
*ANY* SET TERMINAL command in any of these procedures will cause this
    problem.
