1084.0. "Garbage on the screen" by 59282::F_MONETTE (Network consultant - Montreal) Tue Nov 07 1995 12:49

I Have PCM 1.6 and OpenVMS 6.2 AXP.

If I do a CONS MONIT system_name, I can see some garbage on the screen
(something like a big question mark the other way). It's not happen on
each line but very often. There is a example in note 442. If I check
into the log files ,there is no garbage in it.

Is there a way to get rid of thoses bizarre characters.

    Thank you in advance

    Francois

Nope, thats the way the monitor window works. The reverse question mark
is a non-printing ascii character like ESC or BEL and thats how the
Monitor interface presents them. if you use the connect interface the
non-printing characters are just passed to your terminal. The same is
    true for the EXTRACT interface.
