1069.0. "PCM 1.6 eco1: console connet => crash" by 47119::SYSTEM () Mon Oct 30 1995 10:33

The software is PCM 1.6 eco1 (CONSOLE$CONTROL.EXE V. 6.1-110) VAX station using
OpenVMS 6.1, the connected systems are 2 VAX 7000 using OpenVMS 6.1.

Fro C3 window I tried to connect to the console of monitored systems (consoles
connected to the terminal server ports via LAT) I get for a while the console
window, then I see something similar to crash messages and then the window
console disappears.

Can you tell me what has happened? If it is a known problem, do you know if
there is any solution?

Thanks in advance.

If the C3 process has a remaining BYTLM of less than 10000 then this may be the
casue of the problem. I have found that if I give the process running the C3 a
BYTLM of 30000 on a VAXstation running OpenVMS V6.2 and Motif V1.2-3 any
attempts to connect to a system will bring up a DECterm which will then die
almost immediately with a trace back in the window. This only happens if there
are no other DECterms present for the windows session. If I have created another
DECterm prior to the connect a 'monitor' type display will be put in the
DECterm window but no input is accepted at the 'command' prompt.
