1041.0. "pseudo terminal to control the PCM station?" by 47119::SYSTEM () Fri Oct 13 1995 19:24

Ciao,

the note 508.* was very interesting as it gives a suggetion to use the
pseudo terminal to control the same workstation set as PCM.

I tried to set it but I get some trouble. I used the Console Editor and I
configured the pseudo terminal to execute the command "spawn reply/enable".
After verifing and saving the new configuration into the PCM database, I
reconfigured all the PCM adn restarted the C3 window. A new system icon
apparead. Then I tried to connect the console and to look at the events
collected by the console of the same PCM workstation. The output into the
console window dedicated to the log area was e infinite loop of 2 or 3 DCL
commands containing the "reply/enabled" issued command.

I suppose there is something not working fine, as I believed to find an
output as the operator log: OPCOM messages, Audit messages,... and so on.

Can you help me to write the right command to execute on the pseudo
terminal to get all the OPCOM messages from the same PCM workstation?

Thank a lot for any help.

							Stella

    Create a command file as follows:

    $ REPLY/ENABLE
    $ SPAWN

    This will reply/enable the FTA device for the pseduo-terminal and then
    spawn. When you connect to this node you will get a DCL $ prompt from
    which you can enter commands etc.
