Hi, Is it possible to customize the ICON name of a system to which you connect from within the CONSOLE C3 window. I've tried to play with DECW$TERMINAL_DEFAULT.DAT (DECW$TERMINAL.iconName: XXXXXX or/and DECW$TERMINAL.main.terminal.defaultIconName: XXXXXX and/or DECW$TERMINAL.title: XXXXXX), but in the ICON, I always see PCM:'connected node'. The problem is that you don't see the full string. Suppose the info is PCM::NOTED, you will see PCM::N in the ICON. How to customize this ? Or is it hardcoded ? This is a real problem for the customer because if you have 60 systems connected and 55 of them start with a N .... Any solution for this available ? Can/will it be implemented in a future release ? Any help/feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance. Rgds, Geert

Geert, The icon name is specified in the attributes list when the decterm is created. I suppose we could just not prepend the PCM:: string. What I suggest is that the customer change the icon size to Wide via the Motif Window Manager. It works great but of course the icons require more screen real-estate. Since the behavior is intentional you can submit a request for enhancement to Rae Collier. Regs, dan | |||||

It took me a while (in the decwindows notesfile and $search decw*.dat icon) to figure out HOW to do this, so I decided to post the answer here. In the file DECW$MWM.DAT (normally in sys$login) change the Mwm*iconImageMaximum: from 50x50 to <choose one> 100x50,125x75,100x75 Choose the size of the icon that best meets your needs. |
