1015.0. "CTRL/A Disconnect HANGS session" by 29633::LIND (Jim Lind; 592-4099 CX03-1/N14 CNMC-West) Fri Sep 29 1995 15:03

    I am running VMS V6.1 w/PCM V1.6-110.

I connect to any node. Then, use a CTRL-A to attempt to disconnect
    and return to monitoring.

I get the following message, then a HUNG SCREEN:

    Disconnecting ...

Apparently, I have disconnected, because I can reconnect from another
screen/session. However, the screen with the "Disconnecting ..."
message has to be terminated. No other function gets that window
(or terminal) session to respond again.

The CTRL-E to EXIT works OK. Just the CTRL-A disconnect hangs the
    terminal.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    JIm Lind

    Jim,

What do you have control a defined to do? Anything? If you were to
connect a VT100 to the console, what would a control a do? I don't know
what the system is that you are connected to and if control a has any
    special meaning.

Control E is defined to 'Exit' from your connection and appears to be
working as defined. If you don't have Control-a defined, then perhaps
the control-a is affecting that system and not PCM. It can get
    confusing.
