980.0. "system has logging disabled" by 42441::SYMONDSK () Thu Sep 14 1995 18:36

    Dear All,

    I have a customer who is performing a $ console archive consolemanager
    and gets the following message back:

    system has logging disabled

    Customer is running PCM V1.5 on a VAXstation 4000-60 running OpenVMS
    V6.1.
    I have suggested shutting down console manager and then performing the
    archive, but still no joy.
    Can anyone help further??

    Kev,

        If logging is disabled, then there is no console data to archive.
    Is there data in the log files? You can verify this by looking in the
    logfile directory (console$logfiles:*.*).

    Guys,
       This was a known problem in V1.5. It's definitely fixed in V1.6. The
    only restriction to archiving CONSOLEMANAGER is that it be shutdown.
