967.0. "Padlock not appearing ." by 52336::STRATMAN (Peter Stratman @VBO) Mon Sep 11 1995 15:45

    I don't know how he does it, but my customer gets into trouble all the
    time... ;^]

    This time the C3's padlock doesn't show up when users connect to a console
    via the C3 (or via DCL for that matter).

    I have seen notes here about the padlock not going away, but if this has
    already been seen, I must have missed it.

    Anyone else seen this ? If so, I'd appreciate it if someone with access
    to IPMT could log this for me.

    Thanks,
    Peter.

    P.S. How can I get access to IPMT ? (FWIW I'm in SI).

    What version of PCM is your customer running. Yes there was a bug in
    Version 1.5 but was fixed with version 1.6.

    The customer is using V1.6-110 on an AXP running VMS 6.2.

    Peter,

        Hmmm, don't really have an answer for you. The only thing I can
    suggest is that you have the customer restart PCM. It's either that
    the C3 is not connecting to the ENS daemon or it is simply not
    displaying the lock correctly. Do the icons turn different colors
    when an event is detected? If so then there is a valid connection to
    ENS. I'll add it to our internal list for the support engineers to
    examine.

967.4ENS connection seems OK52336::STRATMANPeter Stratman @VBOWed Sep 13 1995 11:2513
    Dave,

    Yes, the C3 icons do get their colors changed. Restarting the C3 only
    does not fix the problem, it comes back after a while. Restarting
    PCM is not really an option since this is more of a nuisance than a
    real problem, since the console does effectively get locked. Still,
    I would rather not have a padlock than one which is not reliable.

    As in recent notes I sent: this is on an AXP running VMS V6.2, PCM
    V1.6-110.

    Thank you,
    Peter.

    Hi,

        another vote for this bug. We're seeing it on a VMS 6.1, V1.6-110
    system.
