956.0. "multiline window event recovery" by 50242::MUELLER () Wed Aug 30 1995 08:14

***** cross posted in OSCint tools notes conference *****

	Hallo,

Using CM, PSW and OSCint I have a rather generic question.

I distribute events collected by OSCint using the CM multiline
windows. Now, when a users workstation (where the multiline window
was displayed) is being rebooted, a new multiline window will show
up when a NEW event occures, but is there anything I can do to
get the "old" (still valid) events back to this user WITHOUT
restarting SNS or OSCint or the Console Manager (which I believe
will in each case do more than just recreate the events for one
	particular multiline window).

The user had been using plain PSW before we implemented OSCint, and
with psw you can just startup the eventwindow again and that's it,
you get all currently valid events.

Any ideas how I can guarantee a 100% "event recovery" after a
	multiline window had disapeared?

	Thanks in advance,

	- Sabine

Btw.: I got the same problem as mentioned in 948.* (multiline
windows starting up with the "failed to connect to ENS"
event, but it doesn't happen on a regular basis)

This functionality is not available in the PCM as it stands today.
Seems to me that I remember an old integration with PSW that
would populate the ENS window with all it's current events when
the event window was restarted. Did you post this note in the OSCint
notes file? They might be able ot help as well.
