916.0. "where are the info about monitored systems stored?" by 33972::CHANDRASEK () Wed Aug 09 1995 10:16

    Digital UNIX V3.2A PCM V1.6

    Two questions:

    1. dir pcmsvr::cm$docs: (as per 2.36) doesn't find device or directory.
dir pcmsvr::cm$kit: = dir pcmsvr::cm$doc: but neither has the docs or
.ps files. Where is the v1.6 doc set on-line? (I have the 1.5 doc-set
but clearly some things are out of-date in that doc set). The customer
does not have a postscript printer, so I can't print off the
    distribution CD.

    2. The real problem:

My customer installed PCM V1.6 and added some systems. For reasons
that I won't go into, I deleted PCM 1.6 subsets, deleted everything in
/var/opt/console and /usr/opt/DCR160. I then reinstalled the software,
and configured one system. When I did an /sbin/console_startup restart
the old icons came back. I thought that all this info was stored in
console_cfg.dat in /var/opt/console/data, and when I deleted it before
reinstalling the software, I got rid of the old icons. So where is this
    coming from?

    I am truly puzzled.

    Regards, Kris.

Take a look in you home directory for a file called

    .consolec3rc

and if you find it, rename it and then go into the c3 and see how
    things look.

       Dan
