864.0. "Various problem on OSF ..." by TRNOIS::TESTA (POLYpCENTER !?!) Wed Jul 12 1995 15:10

    Hello,

    I have some problem with the PCM 1.5 on OSF 3.2 environment:

    1) I get a PCM crash (or C3 crash only it's dipend) some time ending
    editor session with reconfig function; PCM shutdown and restart are
    necessary to normalize the PCM functions, but the customer is not
    happy;

    2) The PCM controls 36 Alphaserver (2100, 1000, 2000); connection
    protocol is telnet; if DECserver700 has port with signal control
    disable then on reboot of one Alpha server the connection window catch
    unusual positon of prompt untill manually port logout; if signal
    control is enable then on alpha server reboot PCM has 'remote console
    link lost' for some time (nearly from 20 to 150 seconds); the customer
    is not happy again;

    3) Reviewing data from window interface the result are not very
    predictable: if 'show time stamp' and 'show event' are selected the
    interactive report are complete but without time stamp; if only time
    stamp is selected the report is scrolling without pause (unreadeble);
    if only show event is selected the report include only PCM events; if
    all 'show' are selected on extracting the report file is empty; if only
    'show time ...' is selected on extracting the report file contain log
    information with time stamp.

    Any advice will be appreciate.

    Thanks in advance.

    regards.

Paolo,

  Please have your customer upgrade to V1.6 and if their
  problems persist, then you should raise an IPMT on thier
  behalf.

Cheers,
Phil
