849.0. "Acknowledge and clear actions with events" by SWTHOM::DEGAGE () Tue Jul 04 1995 11:09

	Hi,

One customer running PCM v1.5A on OpenVMS wants to know if it is possible to
save informations like :
in the window " Events form C3 at ...", optionnaly you can display the
two fileds "Acknowledged by" and "cleared by".

Are these two informations saved by default anywhere ? I have been searching
through all .dat files and did not find anything.
First is it saved ?
Second can it be saved optionally ?
Third, if not, is it possible to save it through another method ( action ...?)

Thanks a lot .

Marielle,
the Ack and Clear are not logged in this version.

If you wish to write an action routine then it is certainly
possible to log Acks and Clears, but you will need to use the C
API to do this as it gives you access to the full event context
info.

If you look in the manuals and at the console.h include file you
will get more information about this. Currently the Ack and Clear
are just different types of events, and the Event structure
delivered to the actio routine via the API contains a type field
and a Sequence Number.

Hope that helps.

Cheers Simon....

	Thanks for your quick reply.

You said : "...not in this version"
Does it mean that it will be done in future versions ( what 's about V1.6
for example ).
