836.0. "PCM V1.6-100 archiving; HIB-->LEF" by HLSM04::GERRIT (Gerrit Woertman, UTO, 838-2535) Thu Jun 22 1995 18:37

    Hi,

with PCM V1.6-100 running on AXP OpenVMS V6.1 I have problems
    when archiving all the systems.

If there is no archiving everything is fine!

With high amounts of consoletraffic Controller processes become,
    and stay, LEF

I have sent a mail to Simon Jackson and Dan Butterworth
with evidence and a pointer to 2 crashdumps.

    regards,

    Gerrit

I upgraded our PCM V1.5 MUPA main environemnt to PCM V1.6-100
        and next night, same problem.

During nightly archive run, one Console Ctrl xx went to LEF and
stayed there forever. Finally I had to shutdown PCM, which did
not complete until I FORCE_EXITed the Ctrl process. Which meant
I had to do lot of cleaning up in the system.

(I.e. deassing all logicals in PCM table, manually logout
DECserver ports, manually destroy LTA devices hat belonged to
        the Ctrl process in question....)

Lat night archiving apparently went fine. Archive job log does
not show any "Controller process not responding"

For the record, this system is running OpenVMS V6.1 (VS4000-60),
        DECnet/OSI V6.2-1, UCX V3.3.

One of Console Ctrl xx went again into LEF. Had to shutdown PCm
and restart. what should be done in order to get this resolved?
