Which 8200's? Are you talking about the old Scorpio class VAXes or
what? Also, do you mean to use an "8200" as the PCM engine will they
be managed by PCM? If the latter, PCM will manage anything that has an
RS232/DEC423 console port that uses the ASCII character set and
supports XON/XOFF flow control.

| Thanks, Dan.
I wouldn't have thought of old technology re: 8200's. I mean Turbolasers running UNIX
V3.2C. (yes I mean "C"). I have 5 of them as well as a pair of rackmounted 2100's that
my customer wants to add to his VAX VMS based PCM station. He has been having trouble
getting them to communicate.
Are there any prereqs or settings that need to be considered to make this happen?

What is happening or not happening when he tries to use them
with PCM?

Not to my knowledge. I have had instance's where Unix will change
the bits/parity setting onthe console terminal when it boots
so make sure the ttydef's are set consistently. I recommend
you use 8 bits/no-parity.
