809.0. "osf pcm review log file history with time stamps scrolls rather than pages 70431" by KERNEL::COFFEYJ (The Uk CSC Unix Girlie.) Tue Jun 13 1995 16:27

I've been handed a call from a colleague -

OSF/1 V3.1 PCM Vunknown (I'll check)

If it sounds familiar to anyone please say.....

When doing a review log file history using special option
such as "specify start date" and " time stamp each line"
the customer is seeing erratic behaviour.

The customer has noticed that when he clicks on the time
stamp button and then does the view, it doesn't page the
data written to the screen. It just scrolls down continuously.

He believes this is a bug as it only behaves this way on OSF.
If he tries it on VMS it behaves as it should.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Jo Coffey.

Jo,

Known problem in V1.5 (all variants, ECOS's and MUP's), fixed in V1.6
I suggest you get a copy of 1.6 to your customer to verify that it is
indeed fixed, if not, we can then do something about it.

Cheers,
Phil

Phil,

Thanks for the rapid response...... I'll
confirm that he is no doubt running V1.5 and
explain the known problem/upgrade situation he
has to him. Pretty certain that'll be it....
