1.6 pcm. Several 2100s running OSF being managed by pcm using telnet. TONS of data overruns when the OSF box is rebooted or he uses the PG command on the OSF box, From the customer: "When we use the pg pager in OSF/1 on a reverse telnet connection. As soon as you get a screen of data, the colon from the pg program clears the screen and then decterm screws up, echo's a bunch of control-G's We turned off the port break characteristics. That seems to make a difference on 1 port. We tried another. That fixed the pg problem. After setting port disable break: Now we reboot the workstations & the polycenter session hangs up, the telnet session drops, This will not do" This only happens on a console connection thry the decserver700. Server is set to xon/xoff flow control. bc16e cable between the console port on the 2100 anda the server port. He HAS disabled the graphics interface on the console port per a suggestion in another note.... any help would be appreciated./... thanks

Hmm, can this be reproduced with any other terminal server? Do you have a way for us to reproduce this? Cheers, Phil

Cathy, please send the DECserver 700 characteristics for the port and for the Telent server on the DECserver. I shall then try to reproduce as I have not seen flow control problems for a long time on PCM. Cheers Simon....

Cathy, I have tried the pg on a system connected to PCM by both LAT and TELNET. I get no problem as seen by the customer. I am using DECserver 200s in my test. Can you supply any more info. Cheers Simon....

The problem Cathy is referring to is detailed in Note 777 including the DS700 characteristics. As of Friday we are trying to get some attention from the DECserver team -- hopefully someone with some Telnet expertise. jk |
