782.0. "re: 772.0, decserver ports, can provide fix for v1.5?" by CSC32::K_MARTIN () Fri Jun 02 1995 22:31

Hi,

gloom and doom to follow. Regarding note 772,

> IO$M_FLUSH_FLAG to the qio call of IO$M_LT_DISCON

It is MCI with 100 monitored nodes PCM setup. They are giving
us at MCI Mission Critical Support a fair amount of heat
over this. They are requesting this fix be done at
v1.5 instead of them waiting for v1.6 to come out of
field test. Any way you kind, generous, thoughtful
developers can pull this off?

Thanks

Keith Martin

    Keith,

        We are just about to finish field test and we can ship the customer
    a copy of the final release. It's difficult for us to drop work on V1.6
    and focus on V1.5 especially when our target date is just around the
    corner. Hope you understand our position.

    I assumed this is a VAX system so I patched the CONSOLE$DAEMON image
    from the V1.5 MUPA kit. It is available as

    CSC32::DUMPS:[BUTTERWORTH]CONSOLE$DAEMON_15_MUPA_PATCHED.EXE

    MCI support now owes me several beers!

    No, to the best of my knowledge. The protocol is of course entirely
    different.

    The reason I'm asking is because a customer in france uses TCP
    to connect to UK, Spain, etc. He didn't have a console shutdown
    command in his SYSHUTDWN.COM, and he had to log his TCPIP ports
    out after a reboot to get the connection back up.

    I believe thqt the problem has gone away now that he shuts down
    PCM properly, but I'm not sure...

    Peter.
