Hi, Polycenter Scheduler T1.6 , OpenVMS VAX V6.1 Last Friday I did the upgrade from PCM V1.5a to PCM T1.6. Afterwards I tried to start a CONSOLE EXTRAXT without success-->I've got : $ console extract brssws POLYCENTER Console Manager Extract facility Version T1.6-000 Copyright (c) 1994 Digital Equipment Corporation. All Rights Reserved Failed to dearchive log data for system BRSSWS - Logfile path is unknown Today, I've started from zero. I've deinstalled PCM. Installed PCM V1.5, upgraded to PCM V1.5a. Configured a system, created event/filter and tested it out. Ok. Then I started an CONSOLE EXTRACT-->NO PROBLEM. So, I upgraded to PCM T1.6. The event notification is still working. But if I try a CONSOLE EXTRACT, I've the same problem: Failed to dearchive log data for system BRSSWS - Logfile path is unknown I also tried a CONSOLE ARCHIVE. This gave no problem : $ console archive brssws POLYCENTER Console Manager Archive facility Version T1.6-000 Copyright (c) 1994 Digital Equipment Corporation. All Rights Reserved Starting archive procedure for system BRSSWS Archive procedure for system BRSSWS completed successfully $ dir console$archive Directory CONSOLE$ROOT:[ARCHIVE] BRSSWS.7001010000_TO_9505022305_EVENTS;1 BRSSWS.7001010000_TO_9505022305_LOG;1 BRSSWS.7001010000_TO_9505022305_TIMES;1 BRSSWS.9505021052_TO_9505021053_EVENTS;1 BRSSWS.9505021052_TO_9505021053_LOG;1 BRSSWS.9505021052_TO_9505021053_TIMES;1 Is this EXTRACT a know/new problem ? If you need more info, please let me know. Rgds, Geert

Geert, this is probably a new problem I have introduced. I did quite a bit of work on extract so that it does not build temporary files (saves time and space) and I guess I have blown it. Could you tell me the following: 1) was PCM running when you did the extract? 2) Are you doing event or log review? 3) Did you specify time boundries i.e. /before or /since? The most likely thing is I have got an fopen() parameter incorrect for OpenVMS as the return indicates that one of the live LOG TIMES or EVENTS files could not be accessed. I shall also modify the message as it is slightly misleading. Cheers Simon.... | |||||
