Does anyone out there have any experience or customers who've used PCM to manage printservers? If so can you post some insight/comments about the benefits/problems/etc.? Thanks!

Rae, If you run the LPS$CONSOLE utility and leave it running, it continually updates the screen every 10 seconds or so by repainting the entire screen. This causes PCM to log a lot of useless data. The workaround is to disable logging in the PCM editor. Dave | |||||

Rae, to be more precise, you run LPS$CONSOLE in a pseudo terminal. Then you need a scan profile for that, but you can now monitor for errors. Dave is right in that lots of useless data gets logged, so the best thing to do is to turn off logging for these consoles. SHaun |
