I am experiencing problems where Console Manager is up and running, but does not deliver actions (ie. console$eventlist) defined in filters. This is not a regular problem, but has occured about 4 times. The actions are mainly tcp/ip based, but there is a couple using Decnet as a transport. The command procedure is created in Console$Tmp, but does not successfully execute. The next event triggers the action and another command is produced. In the end the Console$tmp directory gets lots of files. When console manager is restarted it can take about 1 hour to clear the console$tmp directory before we have a active system again. The environment is ... Console Manager v1.5 MUPA OpenVMS v6.1 (VAX) DECnet/OSI v5.7a UCX v3.2 Andy.

Andy,
Do you have enough disk space to DEFINE CONSOLE$DEBUG ENS? The
CONSOLE_NOTIFY_OUTPUT log can get pretty big if your triggering a lot
of events but it would be nice to have becuase it does give us the
final status of each action process.
Regs,
Dan

Hallo,
I believe I got the same problem getting thousands of
MULTI-LINE_xxyy.com files in CONSOLE$TMP over the weekend.
Any news about this problem?

Sabine, If you have the debug logical set to ENS, then yes, you will get thousands of these files. I have done some work for V1.6 with this, hopefully the problem will be fixed for you when we finally get V1.6 together. Cheers, Phil | |||||
