618.0. "System SHOW not in config database" by SNOFS2::OLEARY () Mon Feb 20 1995 05:47

    The following occurs when trying to connect to a Serviced system usying
    its Icon..
    	Window opens for about one second displaying the message "System
    SHOW is not in the current configuration database"

    I have checked the database for this system using the configuration
    editor and all the information is in place.

    Any ideas on where the problem may lay?

    Thanks,
    Patrick

Patrick,

  You probably have a logical name or symbol defined, the symbol/logical
  is the name of the system and it equates to something like "SHOW mumble"

618.2Functions with different NODE nameSNOFS2::OLEARYTue Feb 21 1995 06:2512
    It appears that the information pertaining to node "LOVE" is corrupt
    in configuration database since it was possible to connect to the node
    by configuring it as a different node name. Attempted to delete all the
    information pertaining to node "LOVE" and add the node once again to
    the database but the same sympthoms occur.

    Is it possible to completely clear all information from the
    configuration database pertaining to a particular node?,

    Thanks,
    Patrick

Patrick,

  Do you have a symbol or logical name defined as LOVE, e.g.

$ LOVE :== "SHOW SYSTEM"

or

$ DEFINE LOVE "SHOW SYSTEM"

  If so, this is the cause of your problem.

Cheers,
Phil
