610.1 | | OPG::PHILIP | And through the square window... | Fri Feb 10 1995 11:05 | 12 |
| Steve,
You will have to submit your request to our product manager, it is not
currently on our list of things to implement.
Why does your customer want to do this, it would result in output with
interleaved data from all the systems, I can understand the need for
doing this in real-time, but not for historical information which is
what extract produces.
Cheers,
Phil

| Phil,
Being able to review *events* from all nodes is quite handy and thats
what most used it for. Looking at the logfiles for all nodes at once
didn;t have a whole lotta use as you've pointed out.

Several of my customers use the review events command for all nodes with VCS
today. As I pointed out in a related note, you must have a session manager
running to display eventlist and this is not an option if there are
no staff present. I know you can use workarounds etc but the same
functionality is not available with the workarounds. Its not a show stopper but..

610.4 | Very useful to have all consoles' output interleaved... | STEVMS::PETTENGILL | mulp | Thu Jun 08 1995 04:14 | 4 |
| It allows one to get a record of things like a cluster meltdown that shows
the time order of the console events. It can be a bit confusing, but it is
very useful. The alternative is to print all the listings and then try to
line them up...
