What is the default date range when executing a CONSOLE ARCHIVE command? These are the commands I execute every night to archive my data CONSOLE ARCHIVE/NOCONFIRM ALL CONSOLE ARCHIVE/NOCONFIRM CONSOLEMANAGER What it does is archive data from the first event found for a period of about 24 hours. None of the events beyond that period are archived. Because they are not archived many events remain in the logfile. After about 2 months of running PCM 1.5-006 my console$logfiles area is huge as it basically contains 2 months worth of events. To workaround this problem I have to specify a current date with the /before qualifier. CONSOLE ARCHIVE/NOCONFIRM/BEFORE=TODAY ALL I assumed that archiving would occur by default from the oldest event found to the current time. Was this not the intended behaviour? If not then I'd suggest some clarification in the documentation. Mike

Mike, If you dont specify a periof to archive, what is *supposed* to happen is that the default number of hours worth of data as specified in the PCM database will be archived. Out of the box, the default number of hours to archive is 12, but you can change this in the database if you wish. Cheers, Phil |
