I have read several previous entries in this notesfile, pertaining to performance on PCM. My customer finds that when a situation arises that triggers lots of logging to the console, PCM effectively locks up. He is using Openvms VAX 6.1 and 1.5 PCM with the MUP & has a VS4000/60 In a previous note, the pointer to performance enhancement, was to increase Physical memory & number of disk spindles. I am not realy clear from the userguide, as to how you can get logging to multiple spindles under VMS. If the previous is true, is there some performance statistics, as to how best optimise disk usage for PCM ?.. Steve Cliffe

Steve, Early on in this conference is some ***ROUGH*** guidelines for configuring memory on a PCM host. As for logging to multiple systems, look in the user guide at the part that describes how to add a system into the configuration it explains everything you need to know. Cheers, Phil |
