| Hi Willem,
can you get the customer to send us an export of the database plus the output
from:
$ show device/full console$logfiles.
The messages cannot as such be stopped as the PCM software is designed to
periodically check the filespace in it's log directories.
The thresholds can be altered in the database if required and so can the check
interval.
I did not beleive we had a problem in the check routine.
Cheers Simon...

558.2 | set volume/rebuild=force ? | BACHUS::WILLEMSG | Geert Willems MCS-Belgium | Mon Jan 16 1995 15:51 | 13 |

Hi Willem,
Just an idea :
Are you sure that the free block count is correct ?
I remember that there were some problems with it.
Try the 'set volume/rebuid=force' and check the free
block count again.
Rgds,
Geert

Thanks for the replies.
I intended to react as soon as possible, but I'm still waiting for the
customer to supply more information (the export of the database eg).
I told him also to check his space after a SET VOL/REBUILD=FORCE
Anyway, thanks for your help so far, as soon as I get my hands on anymore info
I'll post it here.
Cheers,
Willem

558.4 | Probably wasn't the fault of PCM after all... | UTRTSC::WDEBAKKER | Feed your head | Fri Jan 20 1995 13:46 | 9 |

Just got a message from the customer, that after doing a SET VOLUME/REBUILD=
FORCE 'the problem seems to be fixed'.
So it looks like Geert was right, and this is not a fault of PCM but the
freespace issue when checking with SHOW DEVICE.
We'll monitor the situation for a few days.
Thanks again,
Willem
