    Hi all,
    
    WE have been using Console manager at a customer site welll for
    Ultrix and OSF systems....
    
    Now our customer wants to connect one of his 8810 systems on 
    the console Manager as a managed system.
    
    Now we are confused how to configure this system on a console manager.
    ( I am not much well versed with VAX platforms).
    
    The 88xx series systems I understand, have a frond end box that
    acts like a console and boot their console programs etc. from it
    ( Like a PRO350/pro 380 etc.). Without this front end box the system
    would not boot. This box would go into the console port of the 88xx.
    
    So can't discoonect the front end box from console port since this is
    the primary thing to boot the 88xx.But if I have it in place I wouldnot
    be getting the console port of 88xx for connecting to console manager
    system.
    
    How this catch-22 situation can be resolved.
    
    How do I bring this 88xx system as a manged system on Console Manager.
    either on a direct connect or via lat/telnet?

Read Appendix A of the User Guide it is devoted to exactly this scenario.
